Tour 70: 3 Day Astronomy & Night Skies Tour
18 Km outside the town Sutherland is the South African Astronomical Observatory. It houses 10 telescopes of which one being ‘SALT’ (Southern African Largest Telescope), with a hexagonal mirror of 11m. A day tour of SALT can be done and on the night tours visitors can view the sky through a 16’ Meade and a 14” Celestron telescope.
