DETAILED ITINERARY

This tour is a combination of some of the best Tigerfishing waters in Zambezi River and wildlife areas of Chobe National Park and Okavango Delta.
Optional upgrading to chalet/lodge accommodation is available on some night at additional cost.

DAY 01 Upington – Palapye
Early departure from Upington to Palapye in Botswana. Clients from the Northern Part of South Africa can join the group in Palapye.
Overnight: Palapye camping
Meals: B, L & D (Full Board on all days)

DAY 02 Palapye – Katima Mulilo area
Early departure via Francistown and Sibuyu -, Kazuma – and Kasane Forest Reserves to Kasane. Enter Namibia at Ngoma Border Post and continue to Katima Mulilo area in the Zambezi Region.

DAY 03 Tigerfishing

Day 05 Katima Mulilo – Chobe National Park
Depart via Ngoma Border Post and the Chobe Forest Reserve to Savuti in Chobe National Park. The Savuti Channel has started flowing again a few years after being dry for about 30 years. This has changed the Savuti eco-system totally. Wildlife is spread out all along the river and the Savuti Marsh is a wildlife and birding paradise. Lately it flows sporadically, depending on summer rains in the catchment area.

Elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, kudu, giraffe & impala roam the area and lion, spotted hyena and leopard are seen often. Cheetah and wild dog are sporadic sightings. Elephants are regular visitors to the campsite.

DAY 06 Chobe – Khwai Community Trust
Depart to the Khwai Community Trust & Wildlife Management Area on the northern side of the Khwai River, which is the border of Moremi Game Reserve. This pristine area is rich in wildlife and teems with bird life and is one of the best areas in Southern Africa to see wild dogs. This is one of the last real wilderness areas in Southern Africa. The campsites are near the Khwai River.

Overnight: Camping at Magotho Community Campsite (No facilities, crew pitch toilet & shower)

DAY 07 Kaziikini – Moremi Game Reserve – Khwai Community Trust
Game drive to Moremi Game Reserve. Moremi is definitely one of the best game reserves within Botswana, offering the visitor a magnificent variety in landscape and marvelous wildlife all year round. Birdwatchers will be amazed. Optional boat trips on the Delta can be done from Xakanaxa.

Game drives in Moremi. We exit the park late afternoon at South Gate and continue to Kaziikini. Kaziikini is situated in the Sankuyo Community Trust and is an active wildlife area
Overnight: Kaziikini Community Campsite camping
Meals: B, L & D

DAY 08 Kaziikini – Kang (Palapye)
Depart via Maun to Kang on the Trans-Kalahari Highway. Clients from the Northern Part of South Africa can leave the group at Maun and drive home via Palapye.
Overnight: Kang (Palapye) camping
Meals: B, L & D

DAY 09 Kang – Upington
Depart to Upington (home).

It is expected from clients on camping tours to assist with pitching and packing up camp and with general camping duties on request
